There is no set time or distance to aim for when you're just starting out. Go run a few miles (or kilometers, l am guessing you're European since you weigh yourself in stones). See how it goes, and adjust accordingly.

idk what 8 stone means.but try running for 31/2 miles. do that for about a week. then go to 4 miles.when u start feeling more confident run for longer. right now im doing in between 6-10 miles a day.
