l am 15 year old male. l do not really need performance or lightweight. l just want a shoe that helps to reduce the impact and damage on my knees and joints. The treadmills with shock absorbant belts were unfortunantely out of my budget range. Under $50 please.

Now, for your question, you want shoes that have ARCH SUPPORT. Everytime you run, there is a great impact on your knees and legs. If you are worried about your legs, you want something that is very good with arch support. If you can not find anything with arch support, l reccomend Dr. Sholls arch support gels. Good luck!

There r many good running shoes out there. I've found that a perfectly good shoe for running outside does not necessarily work well on a treadmill. l normally wear a fairly firm shoe, because l like to feel the ground under my feet without too much cushioning. But after having some back problems, l tried softer shoes with more cushioning for a while. It reduced the shock to my spine, but l discovered that on a treadmill, my feet would burn up! They would get so hot I'd have to stop the workout early. Apparently the softer shoes allowed my feet to move around more inside the shoes, creating friction & heat. So if you're concerned about impact, a softer shoe will help, but u might experience what l did on a treadmill.
