well l would say that you could start running in place, maybe you could try going out and running more than short distances, like l run around my neighborhood. l would also try going to a trainer.. l do and it cost like not even alot of money. you should also start practicing running to like places.. like make a goal of how many miles u wanna be able to run throughout a ____ of weeks

Breath in through your nose and out through you mouth. l used to do track and that is what they told me to do. l had the same problem! It just took a lot of practice. =]

Ok. l can help u with this. 1st to be able run long distance u must have stamina 2nd to build stamina u have to increase the amount u do daily or weekly by maybe 20 yards. 3rd If u increase over long periods of time it wont do anything a schedule for running to build stamina should look like this. Monday- walk around ur block. Tuesday- Run walk but mostly walk. Wednesday- Try running half. Thursday- Run 3 quarters of the way. Friday run 3 quarters agian just to get used to it. Saturday- TRY running. DO NOT force yourself that could be BAD
Hope l helped

Most people find the first place they feel it when they can not run any farther is in their lungs. They get winded. If that is the case, slow down. Slow all the way down to a lazy jog. Bop along at 12:00 pace & u will see that u can jog for much longer time & greater distance. Then u can gradually (over several weeks) increase ur speed.
The other problem people have is that they get tired in their legs. This is not as serious as u think. Most of running distance is mental, not physical. Push yourself to go just a little more & a little more & u will learn that u have reserves of mental toughness that can drive u past where u thought u were merely tired. It is the lack of stubbornness that causes most people to quit before they r done.
Rest. Instead of running every day, take a day off. If u schedule ur running training so that u have rest days before ur long distance days, u will have better results on ur long days & feel better.

You should probably Pace yourself. l am a cross country runner. You probably should start off slow and short distance. If you push your body too much, it can hurt you pretty bad. Once you get to a pace that you are comfortable in, you can run there for a little while. Then you can increse and challenge yourself:) It works. l promise:))))))

l like your approach. Walk-jog is a good way to start a running program. The hard part is pushing yourself. Running is tough. To get in shape, you have to feel some discomfort and get winded. Maybe look for a running buddy. There really is strength in numbers. Try out for track or cross country. Good luck and keep at it. It will get easier.

A lot of people measure how much they run in distance. For a beginning runner, it is sometimes better to measure how much u run in time. For instance, if u can run for 10 minutes straight right now, u could run for 10 minutes & then walk until u catch ur breath & then run a bit more. Each time u run, try to run for a little longer. After a time, make ur walk breaks shorter. This should increase ur endurance level. If u have never run before, then ur cardio system is going to need a while to adjust to the new activity.

You would not believe how much dehydration can drain you! It is amazing. But u must hydrate, get a few good drinks & then make sure u sip about 4 oz. every half hour. Another big contribution to exhaustion is if u start running before ur body & lungs r warmed or ''ready''. This can make u go anaerobic & then u never have the energy for a relaxing, long run. Start slow. Walk for a long time, even, then start trotting. Eventually, u can start running. The longer u warm up, the longer u will be able to run, as ur energy reserves begin to present themselves. If u r hydrated, r u getting sleep? If u r not dehydrated & you're not sleep deprived, r u hungry? Make sure u eat a light, high carb snack a few minutes before u work out. Some people drink coffee, believe it or not. Me, l like to drink water & have a light snack--something that will go to my immediate energy, such as a piece of toast & maybe a tad of protein. Nothing heavy! Also, extreme boredom contributes to a sense of exhaustion. So, try to take an ipod or friend along with u & u will notice ur tiredness much less more profoundly. Trust me, that part is helpful! Last of all, if u have hardly ever exercized cardiovascularly, then ur lungs may have very little V02 ability--the exchange of oxygen for Carbon DiOxide. So, give ur lungs time to develop, to stretch, to get strong. Stay with it & develop a rhythm, stay in that rhythm, with ur steps & ur breaths. See ur doctor to be sure you're healthy. Eventually u will find ur groove. Just do not give up.
