l just bought a gorgeous new pair of saucony running shoes and went for a jog to christen them.Now l have a blister at the top of both heels.

They are a fairly good fit.Will they wear in by themselves or are there any special tricks l can do to them to make them super soft in this area?
did not know l should not run in new shoes, big mistake there
thanks for the tip about leaving them in the sun, it is nearly summer here so no problems with having a hot car to leave them in
My old shoes are new balance, l paid $110 for these new shoes, down from $160
New balance did not have enough arch support (my old ones did but the new ones don't)

Oh.you should never run with brand new shoes.

Always take them out for a casual outing :) Walk with them first and then after a few 'outing' take them for a run.

Put them in the car. The heat from the sun that warms your car will loosen up the plastic and fabric a bit. How long? You decide and see your comfort level.

l break my shoes that way all the time..see if it works for you too :)

Saucony..first of all, buy new balance, the higher the number on the new-balance shoe, the better they are, so aim for the 644 is or higher, l have a pair of 832's, wow, they are nice, but damn expensive, $135 but l do cross country so.yeah.anyways.they should break in on their own

just walk around the house in them and put band-aids on your heels till they heal and keep wearing bandaids until your shoes have worn in.

Good running shoes do not require much break-in. Wear them a day when u know you're going to be doing a lot of walking (the mall, shopping, etc.) It is not so much that the shoes need to be broken in (especially if they're good ones) but that ur feet need to get used to them. Make sure u have good socks- not something that will rub funny. Once ur comfortable doing that- just a day or so, go ahead & take them for a jog. Again, if they're good shoes, they wo not take much breaking in.

ok first there is no problem running in new shoes. hello you bought them to run in.
what you need to do though is alternate between you old and new shoes for about 2 weeks. (eg mon. old, tues. new, wesn. old, and so forth)
you may not work out everyday but just alternate between the two shoes every work out and that should wear them in
