So l am 21 and l ran track in high school--- l hav not run since.. l wanna run in the marathon next year.. what are some things l should do to train myself?

You've got a year to train, so you have plenty of time. l would use this winter to build up a mileage base and then use the spring for speedwork. As you get closer to the event, find a 12 week training plan to use.

You can train in 4 months, so u should be fine. However l would start running now.

My New Years Resolution 2 years ago was to run the CIM (California International Marathon) that was in December. So what l did was l signed up for a race every month. l started at a 5K & worked my way up to the marathon. You must log miles & be prepared to run alot, sleep better & lose alot of weight. l lost 40 lbs during my training. Also read up on it & get tips on how to improve.

You r going to get injured, ur body isnt used to all the pounding its about to take, but stick with it u will get over it.
