I am a freshman in HS preparing for winter track in 2.5 weeks... I've currently been running 2-3 miles everyday in track shoes... l removed the spikes because they are not meant for the concrete and they make an annoying scraping sound. leaves and stuff get into the screw holes, which isnt really a problem because l can scrape them clean later. however, they are really slippery because the bottom is made of plastic... l timed myself and my mile time was thrown off by about 20secs compared to when l was on the track, since l cant sprint in fear of slipping... [it rained last night; the ground is wet] getting new shoes isnt an option.. ):

l also have skate shoes that are really worn out, but they are heavier than the track shoes. they have a really nice grip though... which do you think l should train in for the next 2 weeks and why?

buy a pair of trainers. you can get them at any running store or sports store.

you need to get a training shoe. track spikes are meant for running races only..they have very little pading and wont protect your knees, shins and joints..Skate shoes on the other hand are heavy and you wont run as fast with them on..and im not to sure about there padding since i've never worn them before..but yeah, bottom line GET A TRAINING SHOE

Well, l too would suggest getting a pair of trainers, but since you said that was not an option, l would say continue wearing your track shoes, only because it would give you a more accurate time, and they were made for running, while skate shoes are bulkier and would slow you down when you run, giving you a possibly slower time. Just be careful if you decide to wear your track shoes.

Get a good pair of running shoes, track shoes r not healthy for ur feet or joints during everyday running. Skate shoes r equally as bad. Your type of foot will determine what shoe u should wear. You should consider ur arch, is it high, normal, or flat? This will effect ur gait, do u over or under pronate, or run normal? l always go for stability shoes with a fair amount of cushioning. My favorite is Newbalance, but Asics, Brooks, Saucony & others r all pretty good.
