I am going to try to do track this year at high school since it is my senior year and I'd like to do more before I am gone. I've always been naturally fast and have a lean body, but once l had an asthma attack and doctors told me that l did have asthma. It does not bother me as much now but still does some times if l keep a constant sprint. l wanna train to get faster but l also need to build stamina, because the max right now that l can run is only a half mile, while my girlfriend can run 2+ (it is a little embarrassing haha). Also l do not know anything about how track works, so what do l wanna be going into if what l wanna do is the shorter sprints?

Go for shorter sprints (200, 300 , 350 meters) gradually build up to doing like 10 of each in one workout (with breaks). you should be in shape by track if you work out and monitor your asthma.

Asthma does not stop me----- l just take my inhaler as required> l am just starting running and so far in nine months with asthma l am able to run at anything l want as long as take a minute to inhale my medicine

Do not let asthma stop what you want to accomplish--it is an excuse otherwise
