Jogging is a lot of stress on my knees, probably because my feet a flat and my knees are really bony.

My shoes are even cushiony and the track was bouncy; so l do not understand what the deal is. : (

Is it normal to have knee pain?

use a knee brace when you are exercising, and it will probably help with the pain

yes its normal, l have knee pain constantly during cross country season. l would recommend stretching your legs thouroughly during practice and ice them after practice- 15 min on, 15 min off, 15 min on, 15 min off. Since its ur first practice, your knees will get used to the running soon. The first week is the toughest

l do track! Well by the end of the day my its my legs that hurt, but l guess its different for everyone, there is a girl on track that l know , her knee is kinda of messed up & bothers her while doing track but shes ok. try putting ice on it & make sure before u run u stretch! & stretch when u take a break & when ur done & before u go to bed. try taking a pain reliever to it might help. does ur school have a trainer person that can help u with ur knee? if so go to he/she & they can help. it is normal to have knee pain, there r a lot of ppl who r in the same condition tell ur coach about this, & maybe he can help ok? but remember before & after stretch!

yes it is, here is what you do make or get an ice pack and put it on your leg, then get a heating pack or patch (either for both),then switch from ice pack or patch to heating pack or patch and get a snack and lie down somewhere and watch some t.v that way while your leg pain is going away you can relax a little

Use Bengay, a knee-brace and try going to the hot-tub.

this may be only temporary since it is your first day. l am an experienced runner and after about a month of being a couch potato l had knee pain for my first two days of running.

If this is pain in the muscles below the front of the knee, it is really a result of tight calves & overworking a particular set of muscles. What u need to do is other exercises that will work the whole leg, calf & knee. Each day, do 3 sets of 15 step ups - where u use one foot & step up onto a bench about 24 inches high - the second stair in a set of stairs works well for this. Also do an exercise where u stand on one foot & touch it with the hand on the same side. Lastly, have someone hold ur toes in place while u try to pull them towards you.
