I am at only 2 twelve min miles, and l have 3 months.HELP!!!!

Keep running and practice everyday and build up your mileage each day as you run. Good luck and do not give up ( :

If u have three months - do double workouts & try to increase by 10% per week. Every 4th week drop the miles close to ur first week for recovery. Your second workout can be weights, biking, rock climbing or something ur comfortable with. You can also run in the pool, treadmill or use an elliptical.

A treadmill would be good to get u to practice ur pace - see if u can run 9 minute pace on the treadmill & for how long? You can also walk, jog & sprint on the treadmill.

Intervals would also help - do 6 X 400 at ur mile pace every two weeks with a recovery of 120 heart beats per minute or comfortable enough to go for another lap. It is important that u bring a watch so u can be comfortable about the pace & track ur progress. Try to do a 5K race - also run with a friend since it will be easier. Learn to draft from the runner ahead of u to save energy.

Also try to run hills or walk them quickly - make sure u get some good shoes for ur event!
