last year was my first year to do any kind of sports and l ran track my best mile time was a 5:45 as a freshmen and l wanna do it again this year l have been running because l did CC and my best time was a 18:12 so l was wondering what would be a reasonable mile time goal to get the year as a sophomore

Well for a boy according to your time, around 5:20/5:30 should be your aim depending on the level of training.

l think ur overall goal should be a five minute mile. Assuming that 18:12 was a 3 mile or a 5k, u r in a lot better shape now. If u kept ur training going over the winter, u will be even better.

It is toss up if u will be able to do 5 flat, but l am very confident that u could have gone sub 5:30 at the end of XC. Your goal should be difficult to reach, so 5 minutes works for me. Clearly, set up a series of smaller goals (5:30, 5:15, etc.) & work ur way there.

you should try to get to the low 17 is if you work hard and keep at it

for a mile??? 5:45 is really good, you could probably try to get 5:30
